Synthetic and Designer Drugs are a growing and dangerous trend in the United States. The can be widely available, very potent and dangerous and difficult to detect. Meanwhile science and the legal system struggle to keep up. This presentation concentrates on synthetic cannabanoids (Spice), synthetic cathenones, (Bath Salts) and mytagynine alkaloids (Kratom) and will help all clinical and medical audiences to understand prevalence and use trends; pharmacological actions; clinical presentations; and urine drug testing implications.
